Memoirs of Osaka Kyoiku University. V, Curricula and methods of education and allied subjects, 55(1) 137-146, 2006A Draft International Implementation Scheme for United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014 was published on October 2004 by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014): Implementation Scheme by UNESCO followed on October 2005. Osaka Kyoiku University has supported a forest experience learning of elementary schools at Kashiwara city since 2002. The forest experience learning is related to the decade of education for sustainable development by clarifying the education for sustainable development presented in the "United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014 Draft International Implementation Scheme".

Memoirs of Osaka Kyoiku University. Ser. III, Natural science and applied science, 55(1) 33-43, 2006We conducted the floristic survey in Mt. Takao (Kashiwara city, Osaka Pref., Japan) of 277.7m high from 2003 to 2005. One hundred and sixty-one taxa were collected and those were included 141 species, 3 subspecies, 15 varieties, 1 forma and 1 hybrid. The number of species distributed in Mt. Takao was relatively little. These might be caused by it's poor habitat diversity since most of the places in this forest had used to be derelict grape farms about 20 years ago and forested by the Osaka Prefecture Government and the Kashiwara Government from 1989-1991.

Osaka Kyoiku University has supported forest work-study programs of elementary schools at Kashiwara city since 2002, as an activity of contribution for society. In order to perform this activity at the Periods for Integrated Study, Kashiwara city and Osaka Prefectural Central Office for Agriculture-Forestry Promotion and Nature Conservation, who had continued the activity at Kashiwara since 1993, requested Osaka Kyoiku University to support the activity. From the Osaka Prefectural point of view, this activity is a kind of "local Forest-making project in cooperation with education" proceeded at Kashiwara by Osaka Prefectural Central Office for Agriculture-Forestry Promotion and Nature Conservation in a project called "Let's produce rich-green Osaka" which is one of six projects in a "New Promotion Vision in Primary Industries related to Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries". For Osaka Kyoiku University, this activity also provides an opportunity-to nourish students with an ability and a character indispensable for practical teachers in a coming new age. In a case of cooperative promotion of activities by some organizations, the purpose of the activity for each organization does not always agree. As an example of the cooperative activity with different purposes for each organization, the activity to support forest work- study programs performed at the Creative Forest on Takao Mountain in Kashiwara is focused and analyzed. An importance for each organization to have clear purpose for the cooperative activity is pointed.

Memoirs of Osaka Kyoiku University. V, Curricula and methods of education and allied subjects, 54(1) 203-211, 2005We investigated the educational effect of the forest-working environmental educational programs for the integrated studies, which have been conducted several elementary schools in Kashiwara, in collaboration with Osaka Kyoiku University, Osaka Prefectural Central Office and Kashiwara City Office. The results of the survey of the elementary students attitudes toward these learning both in 2004 and 2005 showed that most of the students were fully satisfied with these programs. And they also indicated that these programs might be highly effective to inspire the motivation of learning of the environmental education in the students. Especially the participation of the undergraduate students of Osaka Kyoiku University in these studies would give the large educative effects in these programs.
