本稿は,生涯教育の基礎研究という立場から,大学生と高齢者に対する質問紙調査の結果をもとに,両者の老い(あるいはエイジング)と死への意識構造の比較検討を行うものである。エイジングに関しては,これを年をとることと老いとに分けた場合,大学生は,両者を別のものとしてとらえる傾向にあることが明らかになった。死への意識構造に関しては,大学生が死への意識と経験とを別々のまとまりとしてとらえる傾向があるのに対し,高齢者の場合は,両者を混在させてとらえる傾向にあることがうかがわれた。また,死教育の必要性の意識は,大学生・高齢者ともに,死を考える習慣,死の話題化,死が隠されているという意識と近接性があることが示された。As a basic empirical study of lifelong education, a comparative study between college students and the elderly was performed with a main theme on aging and death. The elderly's data portrayed rather positive or neutral images on aging as compared to those of college students. As for the feeling structure on death, elderly people's images on death seemed to be closer to the experiences on death. Also, the data seemingly said, that the attitudes toward death education have some connection with people's daily attitudes and objective judgements of death.

本稿は,Palmoreの開発したエイジング・クイズを用いて,高齢者と大学生のエイジングへのステレオタイブや偏見の比較検討を行ったものである。サブグルーブ別の分析では,両層とも効率性・適応の偏見と心理的側面の偏見に誤答率が高いこと,および大学生は社会状況的側面と心理的側面の偏見で,高齢者より有意に誤答率が高いことが明らかになった。また,高齢者自身の偏見の形成過程の分析では,過去の職業と他の高齢者との会話頻度が大きな要因であることが示された。In order to assess the patterns of the stereotype toward aging,a comparative study between the elderly and the young was performed with a help of Palmore's Facts on Aging Quiz.Patterns of stereotype toward aging are divided into four types:psycrological,social adaptive,social,physiological.Young sample's biases against social and psychological aspects of aging are significantly stronger than those of the elderly.Stereotype formation processes are examined by path analysis.Elderly's alleged causes of psychological and socio-adaptive stereotypes are past job experiences and frequencies of conversation with other elders.

本稿は,高齢者の特性を活かした学習援助論の基礎研究として,高齢者のエイジングへの意識に関する調査を行い,その結果を二つの視点から分析したものである。まず第一の,老いとしてのエイジングの問題の視点からは,老いの自覚の契機の検討が行われ,全体的に生理的条件に根ざした契機が多いこと,さらに後期高齢期では心理的要因の比重が高まることが示された。第二の生活意識としてエイジングの問題の視点からは,高齢者特有の教育的ニーズがまとまりをもっていること,70代前半あたりを境に生活意識の構造に変化が見られるのではないかということが示唆された。This paper deals with the attitudes toward aging of the elderly from the following two angles.The first is the analysis of the events when a person feels to become old.Most frequent events answered are those of physiological change.But for old-olds psychological change is very important.The second is the analysis of daily feelings which lead to the educational implication.The data suggests us that the educational needs of the elderly constitute a group and that the structures of the feelings are different between young-old and old-old.
