Hayashi Yosuke is associate professor in the Faculty of Education at Osaka Kyoiku University, specialising in the Philosophy of Sports and Physical Education. His recent scholarly interests focus on the Philosophy of Culture and Education, with particular emphasis on Taiiku, a concept that integrates physical activity, sports, and physical education to foster lifelong physical well-being. His academic interests also include the philosophy of education in antiquity from the perspective of the Greek concept of Paideia and Spiritual Exercise. Hayashi has published several scholarly books, including a study on French Philosopher René Descartes (1596-1650), examining Descartes’s views on education and reading. Regarding the philosophy of sports, he is currently interested in cricket.
