Miho Furusawa

This paper reports on Furusawa’s two high school Modern and Contemporary History lessons on the American Civil War implemented in 2025, which built upon Sasagawa’s 2024 practice. The first practice incorporates Modern World-Systems Theory alongside the Emancipation Proclamation and Gettysburg Address. The second practice examines two “Japanese” narratives in the Civil War context. The paper also documents the activities of a high school world history teachers’ study group, highlighting the sharing of teaching materials, professional exchange, and mentoring of junior educators.

「歴史総合」の3つの大項目（B「近代化と私たち」、C「大衆化と私たち」、D「グローバル化と私たち」）に設けられた中項目「現代的諸課題」でハンセン病を取り上げ、全体を貫く問いの題材とする年間計画のうち、令和6（2024）年度大阪教育大学池田地区附属学校研究発表会の公開授業で実施したB「近代化と私たち」の授業を取り上げる。「隔離」政策が本格化する直前の日本のハンセン病対策とそれに関わった人々の動きを、講義とペアワークを組み合わせ、複数の資料を読み解きながら考察する。
